While this tent is not meant for extreme camping or severe weather it is more than capable of handling a quick few day getaway in nature. In fact, at this low price point, its one of our favorite tents to throw in a pack and just head out due to its low weight and simple design. If you have some concerns about the lack of waterproofing know that the tent can handle a little light right or misting while camping it's just not going to be able to handle extended soaking downpours. One thing to keep in mind though if you feel like you need extra water protection is that they do sell waterproof sprays that can waterproof tents or anything else that you might want to waterproof for outdoor use such as boots or backpacks.
